Right from of verbs
(1). If the sentence is present indefinite and subject is 3rd person singular number, s or es is added with verbs.
Examples:
1.Karim (go) to school everyday.
Answer: Karim goes to school everyday.
(2). If there is to be verb after subject
but no by or with at the last part of the sentence ing will be added with the verb .
Example:
1.He is (go) to school.
Answer: He is going to school.
2.Father was (read) a book.
Answer: Father was reading a book.
(3)If there is to be verb after subject and by or with at the last part of the sentence the verb will be past participle.
Example:
1.Rice is (eat) by me.
Answer: Rice is eaten by me.
2.The work is (do) by me.
Answer: The work is done by me.
Rule-4: After subject if (be) is given and after( be), verb+ing is found, then (be) will be am/is/are/was/were/shall be/will be according to tenses and persons.
Example:
1.He (be) going to school.
Answer: He is going to school./He was going to school.
2.Father (be) reading a book.
Answer: Father is/was reading a book.
Rule-5:If there is have /has/had/shall have/will have before of the verb ,then the verb will be past participle.
Example:
1.Father has (do) the work.
Answer: Father has done the work.
2.I had (finish) the work.
Answer: l had finished the work.
Rule-6: If there is have in the bracket (have) it changes to have or has or had according to persons and tenses.
Example:
1.I (have) done the work.
Answer: I have/had done the work.
2.He (have) done the work.
Answer: He has/had done the work.
NB:In Past Perfect Tense 'had' sits with any person.
Rule-7:If there is by/with after past participle, then( have ) bracketed have will be have been/has been/had been according to tenses.
Example:
1.The work (have)done by me.
Answer: The work has been done by me./The work had been done by me.
2.I (have) liked by him.
Answer: I have been liked by him./I had been liked by him.
Rule-8: If there is Since/For in a sentence and time is given after them, have been/has been/had been is used before verb +ing.
Example:
1.I (have) doing the work since morning.
Answer: I have been doing the work since morning.
2.My father (have ) working for two hours.
Answer: My father has been working for two hours.
Rule-9:If past indicators such as last, yesterday,ago,long ago, long since used in the sentence then it will be past tense.
Example:
1.I (find) him yesterday.
Answer: I found him yesterday.
2.She (like) me long ago.
Answer: She liked me long ago.
Rule-10:If there is 'since' in any sentence and after since not time but event is given , then before 'since' when the part is present tense,after since the part will be past indefinite and when before since the part is past tense, after since the part will be past perfect tense.
Example:
1.Two years have passed since I (meet) him.
Answer: Two years have passed I met him
2.Two years passed since I (meet) him.
Answer: Two years passed I had met
him.
Rule-11:If now, at this moment, at present, nowadays etc in a sentence found, it will be present continuous tense.
Example: He (work) now.
Answer: He is working now.
